Allison did a terrific job with her team

The Children’s Institute week is over. Parents of team members, you should be very proud of your sons and daughters. They did an incredible job with the kids during the whole week! Peruvian kids are not the easiest in the world to teach. Obedience is definitely a character quality worth teaching around here. For all the challenges of energetic kids and language barriers, however, this team did an incredible job of communicating Christ and His character to a group of 200 children here in Peru. Many children asked to have someone pray with them so they could receive salvation.

Welcome to the Children’s Institute!

On Sunday we attended the church that had sent the most children to the seminar. The pastor told the whole congregation that his nine year-old son, who had been at the Children’s Institute, told him that the week had been incredible, the teaching had been really good, and he was such a happy boy because of the Children’s Institute. The boy said he wanted all the children in his part of the city to have the same experience. The pastor then said, “That is exactly how I feel about the adults’ part of the seminar, so my son and I prayed together and we are going to work to see that everyone in our area can attend the seminar.”

Bananas, anyone?

After the incredibly busy schedule of last week, the team needs a break. We are taking a couple of days more slowly to rest up and do some sightseeing before we plunge into our other work and ministry projects. On Sunday Jacob spoke briefly in a couple of church services, Pastor Salazar preached, and the team provided the special music. Today we saw some of historic Lima (the congress building and a museum) and experienced a South American fruit market. This evening we had dinner with some friends of Pastor Salazar. In an informal setting we shared music and testimonies with them. They have invited us to return on Sunday for a barbeque.

Could you blame us if we didn’t want to say goodbye to these kids?

With skit crews like this, the lessons should be memorable

The guys have really made friends with some of the translators
