Hola from Mexico!
We are now into our 4th week here in Mexico and we are rejoicing for all that the Lord has done. During the past 3 weeks the Lord has brought many unexpected ministry opportunities that have taught us the importance of always being ready to “give an answer of the hope that lies within.” We have seen fruit from the first Children’s Institute in Pachuca. We experienced the presence of the Lord while ministering through song and evangelism in Guanajuato. Hearts were touched as we worked at three orphanages in and around Guadalajara. In all these opportunities the Lord has given us, we have felt and seen His faithful and guiding hand upon us.

The Children’s Institute in Pachuca was absolutely amazing! We had 32 children in attendance. The Children’s Institute went from Thursday through Saturday. One little girl received Christ as her Savior and many more seeds were planted. The truth of God’s word challenged the children as well as the teachers to follow Christ with an active faith. Three of the translators commented that they had been encouraged by the way we lived out our faith through our actions and not just in our words. In addition to the Children’s Institute, the Lord brought other various ministry opportunities. We ministered in the town square and restaurants through songs and passing out tracts and New Testaments. As a result, one of our translators had the priviledge of leading two people to the Lord.
Also, while we were in Pachuca, the Lord brought the opportunity to visit a rest home for the elderly. Rest homes are not very common in Mexico. The elderly usually stay with their families until death. So, to be able to actually locate and visit one was truly from the Lord. We played music, sang songs, and spent some time talking with them. Even though the communication barrier stood in the way, it was incredible how the Lord allowed us to communicate His love to them just by a smile or a hug. One of the ladies was so excited that we had come and she would talk and talk even though we could not understand what she was saying. We praise the Lord for this unexpected ministry opportunity!
